International scholarships
Scholarship Name International scholarships
Academic Year 2021
Scholarship amount £2,000
Nationality Any
Scholarship Deadline 31 May 2021

International Development awards scholarships worth £2,000 to successful international applicants joining us in September or January for their first year of study. Our international scholarships are partial scholarships. This means that you must make sure you can cover the outstanding amount for fees and living expenses yourself.

Who can apply?

You are eligible to apply for an International Scholarship if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • you are an international/EU student, classified as paying 'overseas fee status' (not Home fees)
  • you have an offer to study a postgraduate degree course (for September)
  • you are not currently enrolled on a Kingston University course

When can I apply?

  • Scholarship applications open on 29 March.
  • The deadline to apply is 31 May.

How are International Scholarships awarded?

International Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the following:

  • Academic merit (your previous grades)
  • What you expect to gain from your Kingston degree course
  • What you expect to do after you complete your Kingston degree (future goals)

What documents do I need to submit?

You must submit all of the following documents as part of your online application:

  • Kingston University offer email (conditional or unconditional)
  • Academic Reference (from previous teacher or employer)
  • Personal Statement (maximum 500 words – this applies to all applicants)
  • Academic transcript (if your final transcript is not available until after 31 May, submit your most recent transcript; we will make a decision based on the grades you provide, not your expected grades)

What happens after I apply?

Here is a timeline of the application process.

  • You will receive a confirmation email as soon as you submit your application.
  • If any supporting documents are missing, you will receive 'chasing emails' (remember, we must receive all of the required supporting documents by the deadline).
  • We will email all applicants with a final decision.

Find out what our international scholars have to say about their experiences, including how the scholarships helped them and how they found the application process.
